    • We arrived late last night, after about 36 hours of traveling! We were all so happy to see a bed that we conked out & slept fine all night, despite the 8hr time difference! This morning, we quickly located the corner market for groceries … it was a bit comical to us that they only sell eggs in 1-6 increments (we typically eat 10 per day as a family). Jason happened upon a museum about a block away that has had free admission for a few months, ending today, so we jumped right on that! Next we walked to the city center to see the Helsinki Cathedral (white one) & Uspenski Cathedral (brown one). We also tried reindeer meat at the market, before landing at the Helsinki City Museum (also free) which had an entire wing of “the children’s town” for imaginative play - that was definitely the kids favorite!! … we made it back to our apartment, where Mac promptly fell asleep at 6:30pm

    • Day 3 in Finland off to Turku! We had about a 3hr train ride from Helsinki to a different town, Turku, where we boarded an overnight ferry (cruise ship!) to travel across the Baltic Sea to Sweden. We als went by the Turku Castle next to the ferry port … this castle reminded me of the movie Ever After! The kids are doing really well keeping up with their own backpacks, and occupying themselves with their travel journals or audiobooks during our train rides. The trains & subways are a big highlight for them!
