Maria’s Comments
In Mexico City, the things we enjoyed the most were:
- Taking a hop on, hop off bus to get a lay of the land. There’s a stop right in la Roma.
- going to the ruins under the main cathedral in the Zocalo (main square)
- we stayed at a hotel right on the Zocalo and so got to eat breakfast looking over it—I think that restaurant might be open to the public just for a drink too, need to look it up
- eating tacos at random little stands. I think the one we liked the most didn’t even have a name, but was around the corner from our hotel (definitely get cash for these!)
- we also ate at a really good restaurant named contramar, but it’s kinda pricey (not sure if you’re taking the kids?)
- wished we had had more time to spend in the giant park in the middle of the city—Chapultepec, that’s also where the natural history museum and a bunch of other cool cultural things are
